Description -  His Royal Highness The Duke of York with his first-born son, David (the future Edward VIII). Photographed during the reign of his grandmother, Queen Victoria, George was second in line to the throne after his father, Albert, the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII). His elder brother, Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, had died two years earlier of influenza in the pandemic of 1889 - 92. Upon George's death in 1936, his David would inherit the throne only to abdicate 325 days later.
